Eric Stewart was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to Texas at the age of three. He spent most of his childhood in the Houston area and graduated from Taylor High School in Katy, Texas. Eric then went on to attend the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a B.A. in Russian and Political Science.

After living in Moscow for a year, during which time he realized that Russian winters are, in fact, very cold, Eric returned to Houston to attend the University of Houston School of Law, graduating in December of 2006. Soon after, Eric moved to Corpus Christi to begin his law career.

From 2014 to 2017, Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters service, has recognized Eric as a "Rising Star" in general litigation. Eric’s initial practice was in the areas of commercial litigation, real property litigation, oil and gas litigation, and workers’ compensation subrogation litigation.
